A waste water concrete clarifier had a worn uneven surface after years of harsh service. This meant the clarifier could not operate properly & waste sludge was collecting on the bottom of the tank.
The problem with this clarifier was so severe that it had been taken out of service. By utilising the Belzona solution this clarifier could be repaired without cutting out large sections. The durability of the Belzona product means the tank can be repaired & protected for decades of future use.
The area was washed & abraded to get back to sound concrete. Any deep areas were filled with Belzona 4131 before the larger screeding application. 6mm of Belzona 4131 was then applied over the full base of the clarifier. Metal screed rails were used to control the thickness & maintain a constant level.
By using the Belzona 4131 solution the clarifier was back in action with minimal disruption to the surrounding plant. After seeing the benefits, the customer requested for an additional clarifier application on this site.
